Re: My new (to me) Plex Media Server build
Haha I don't think it will matter if I keep the sides open or not on this case. It's freaking huge. With all the heat from the CPUs being blown out the case directly, there isn't anything else inside the case that produces a lot of heat. I'm gonna load up BOINC on it here shortly and put her through...

Re: My new (to me) Plex Media Server build
The 360 radiator on the front takes up nearly the entire portion of the front vents. There is only a small portion at the front-bottom that is open and I'm not sure it's even large enough for a 120mm fan there. Same with the top mount. The 360 radiator takes up the whole thing except a tiny portion ...

Re: My new (to me) Plex Media Server build
I sure hope they don't. I don't know what I can do to get air passing over them. I've got 1x 360 radiator with 3x 120mm fans mounted at the top as exhaust. 1x 360 radiator with 3x 120mm fans mounted in the front as exhaust. 1x 140mm fan in the rear mounted as intake. 2x 140mm fans at the bottom moun...

Debian 10 isn't affected? Then no worries here since we're running 10.9 on the server.

Yeah I noticed that as well since I use the dark theme as well. I haven't had a chance to look into how to change it though. IIRC, their wasn't individual "theme" files for each theme, so I think it only uses one file for that. Which means if I change it, it'll change it for all themes. I ...

Different weight points based on project
So, I've been thinking how to include NCI type projects in the competition. I understand most of those projects are not really valued that high by most crunchers. So, I was thinking of including them (WUProp, iThena) in the competition but only in the marathons. No sprints. However, their point stru...

Web server update/migration
I will be moving this site over to the new server in the next couple days. So if the site doesn't respond, or appears to be offline then give it some time for the DNS to update to the new server or for me to finish transferring it over.

Would you take $40 shipped and include power to 27265? Will send funds via Venmo, so no fees on your end.

Re: 3-2021 Big Core Options under $2,000.
Well my UPS only works when power goes out. Isn't that the point? Unless you pay more for electricity at night than you do during the day? Then I could see using the powerwall to store the cheaper (in the case of solar, "Free") power during the day and use it at night, but isn't most power...

Throw some panels on the shed?
Take out space in your backyard and mount them to poles on the ground? I mean, who needs a yard anyway when you can generate power with it?

There is nothing that says we don't support anything. I don't want to over complicate things with so many rules, statements, etc... If you want your team to compete, then your members will need to sign up individually. Your team founder will need to sign up as well to create your team and enter them...

Yes, I remember all too well when we got XS to start competing in FB. That was a fun year. 8-) If your team members don't want to participate in boincgames, then why should you benefit from their output? This was the age old argument against Gridcoin. If each member has to sign up, then that argumen...

No, I am not expecting you or anyone else to reward anyone with crypto. I'm stating to embrace both sides of the community and not ostracize one over the other. Yeah, I am not against crypto. Not sure how it falls into this. If people want to earn crypto while doing BOINC. More power to them. If te...

I've still been in touch with them every day monday - friday. They're working on the backend stuff now. Not sure how long it will take them to get that sorted. Re: Weird issue with hard drive
I've had the system for a really long time. I just upgrade bits and pieces of it as I go along and the operating system hasn't been one of the "to-dos" in a long time. With that being said, even though my Plex library is accessing the content on the drives; I do not have that many people o...

I will check both of them, but I suspect since I download "linux distros" the drive is being accessed at all times that it wont go into a "not running" state to trigger those.

Weird issue with hard drive
So a while back I bought a new WD Red NAS 12TB drive for my NAS to hold my Plex library. Since day one I've been having issues with Windows 7 losing the drive. If I go into Disk Management and rescan disks, it always comes back. Though after a day, week or sometimes a couple weeks the drive will dis...

Re: Proof of Ownership
After doing some more research and asking questions in other places I believe I will implement a similar system them Gridcoin uses. Where the user will get a random key when they sign up and they'll have to change their name on one of the projects in the competition to that key. Then when my system ...
