Re: [ADSL] My algorithm in the BOINC project Gerasim@Home

So is this project not going to run its own apps on its own server? What is the point of it?

That feed bot is a pain in the a$$. Thank you for tending to it constantly to keep it running.

I wish their was a better mod/plugin that handled it.

That's all I see also. Only "home" and no way to select any others.

I also hate that you have to register at a whole new site for their forums. I need to ask them if I can add their project to BOINCGames.com.

Anything I need to know about running this project? Last time I remembered running this project the tasks took a really long time to complete.

I mean without having to use > to dump the output in the terminal to a file.

I'll check it out tonight and do some research on how to implement an output within' the script code directly. Gotta be a way.

I wonder how many floppy discs in the world are still in shape to read/write. Maybe not enough! I think you'd be surprised. A lot of governments and industries like the airline industry still use floppy discs today. They're extremely reliable and upgrading those systems to use modern technologies w...

Re: Weekly DC Stats scripts

Well the cronjob should look like this;

0 3 * * sun
or
0 3 * * 7

That's at 3am every Sunday, every week. It will only run once.

Cool site I use to check the cron scheduling is here:
https://crontab.guru/

Very useful for taking the "work" out of setting up a cronjob.

Re: Weekly DC Stats scripts

Does the script have to be run multiple times for a reason? Like are there instances where the script fails to do what it's supposed to do so running it every minute for an hour guarantees success at least once?

Re: Weekly DC Stats scripts

Maybe make the output spit out a unique file name each minute it is ran? Something like a date stamped file name. > "$(date +"%Y_%m_%d_%I_%M_%p").log" This should give you 60 files, all named with the date/time it was created. This way you don't have to worry about the file being...

Re: Weekly DC Stats scripts

I don't understand why the script needs to run every minute for 1 hour?

Wouldn't the output be the same on the last minute of that hour? So what does the first 59 minutes do differently?
